Please
note: Degaussing of hard drives erases all data, formatting
and the factory installed magnetic servo tracks located on the hard disc
platters. Therefore, the hard drive will be
unusable after degaussing.
The HD-3WXL is the newest and most innovative product in Garner’s line of hard drive and tape degaussers. The user friendly input system provides effortless loading of various sized hard drives and tape media without the need for adapters. Once degaussed, the media is automatically released down the exit chute. The HD-3WXL erases all hard drive and tape formats that fit into the 6.75 x 4.5 x 1.8 inch degaussing chamber including large network sized hard drives. Media formats include hard drives, LTO, SuperDLT, DLT, 9940, 3592, AIT and more. |
The HD-3WXL is the newest and most innovative product in the Garner line of degaussers. The HD-3WXL erases full height (1.66" in height), standard height and laptop hard drives and high coercivity tape media including all formats of LTO (1, 2, 3 and 4), SuperDLT I & II, DLT, 9940, 3592, AIT, 8mm and more, all without any adapters. With a continuous duty rating (no cooling necessary) and 10 second cycle time, even large quantities of media can be erased in a very short period of time.PLEASE NOTE: SOME MEDIA INCLUDING HARD DRIVES, LTO ULTRIUM, 3592 AND 3590 ARE NOT REUSABLE ONCE DEGAUSSED. HD-3WXL Operations:
The HD-3WXL is exceptionally user-friendly. Simply slide your media into the slot on the left side of the HD-3WXL and push the "Erase" button. Within two seconds your media will be completely erased and will automatically slide out the right side of the HD-3WXL. It just doesn’t get any easier than that! If space is at a premium, the HD-3WXL's compact design takes up just over 1 square foot.
Degauss vs. Overwrite:
The HD-3WXL produces an erasing field several times stronger than the erasing fields produced by the read/write heads in hard drives and tape drives. This makes for a deeper and more efficient erasure than software based wiping programs. Since the HD-3WXL does not rely on software, the HD-3WXL will also completely and permanently erase failed and damaged hard drives regardless of the operating system or interface.
